You read right. DJ, producer, and active tweeter Diplo is off the bill for the Sleigh Bells show. He was expected to perform alongside the Brooklyn noise-pop duo at Revolution Live this February.
Diplo grew up Thomas Wesley Pentz in Florida and hit it superbig collaborating with M.I.A. He's one-half of dancehall project Major Lazer with DJ Switch and heads his own record label, Mad Decent. Don't know why we're telling you this, because you're probably listening to something Diplo created right now or looking at his new photo book, 128 Beats Per Minute: Diplo's Visual Guide for Music, Culture, and Everything in Between.
Now wipe up your tears, because Sleigh Bell and black metal trio Liturgy are still performing, with other acts likely to join the lineup later. Also, tickets got cheaper. They were $23 and now they're $18 in advance and $20 on the day of the show. If you already purchased a ticket, visit the spot where you bought it and get a refund, then purchase the ticket again at its new price. Sounds like a lot of work for five bucks. But, hey, it's five bucks!
Catch Sleigh Bells and Liturgy at Revolution Live, 200 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, on February 11 at 9 p.m. Call 954-449-1025, or visit jointherevolution.net.
