The holiday season gets a little hectic for everyone. Maybe you've got people visiting, or you're traveling to see family and friends. Perhaps you're utterly alone in this world and have to spend time lamenting your absolute and unending aloneness. Or it's possible you work in retail, and are so mentally taxed by the end of each day that you're now drinking away any trace of feelings. No matter what, it's safe to say you've been busy.

So, we can totally understand if you might have missed any of the recent top-notch death metal gigs that have hit Broward in the past few weeks. There was Morbid Angel, and Cannibal Corpse -- which'll definitely be back around in no time (we think Corpse Grinder has a summer home in the Keys or something?). But you're still in luck because Exhumed is coming to town.

The timing couldn't be better. You've all got plenty of holiday rage to exorcise in the churning maw that is an Exhumed show. For those of you that might have lost track of the band, the gore-obsessed death-mongers recently released what many are calling their strongest record since the early days in Necrocracy . It's even garnered comparisons to Carcass's seminal Heartwork. F

or those of you whom have yet to take in an Exhumed show, expect chainsaws, blistering riffs, and projectile vomit courtesy of reinstated member Bud Burke's ability to puke on command.

The show is rounded out entirely by locals, including neck wrecking thrash of Cyst, the Glorious Death, and Blowtorch Sodomy.

Exhumed, with Cyst, the Glorious Death, and Blowtorch Sodomy. 6:30 p.m., Sunday, December 22, at Culture Room, 3045 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $10 plus fees. Visit cultureroom.net.
