Rookie season is looking bright for the Coastline Festival. The one day music, craft beer, food truck, and art oasis is completely stacked with a great lineup on all fronts and a super pumped crowd eager to be a part of the first-ever event. A special treat for West Palm, this indie circus is heavy on live music with a modern electro-indie twist.
The local beers will be consumed with gusto and the Isle of Art will no doubt see its fair share of inspired eyes. But here at County Grind, we can't help but foam at the mouth over the musical lineup. Big names, up-and-comers, and local acts will all be gracing us with their presence on what is bound to be a whirlwind of a day. To make sure you plan out the perfect festy schedule, here are our picks for five Coastline bands you have to see.

5. Kids
We're about supporting all things local at New Times, and luckily Coastline gives us that opportunity. Recently added, Fort Lauderdale bands Civilian and Kids will be providing the necessary homegrown SoFlo flavor. Kids' breezy yet structured sound blends in perfectly with the lineup of artists that have no doubt inspired them along the way. We are excited to see them, but probably not as excited as they are to share the stage with some of indie-pop's finest.
4 The Neighbourhood
It might never dip down cold enough for a sweater in our delightful South Florida bubble, but we do have a thing for sweater weather. The lead single off The Neighbourhood's first full length offering was like a musical suction that led directly to listening to the entirety of "I Love You" on repeat. The album comes with many a jam, and we're stoked to hear these chilled out songs live.
3. Matt and Kim
Why do you go to shows? It's either to see a spectacle and hear good music or be a part of a crazy crowd, and Matt and Kim deliver huge on both fronts. Known for a wild show jam-packed with energy, Matt & Kim are as delightful as their shows appear, and it is always an honor to be in the audience. Their reputation precedes them and we are expecting things to get a little nuts when this couple-band hits the stage.

2. Passion Pit
The headliners at this line up, Passion Pit are one of the most hotly anticipated acts. But it's not just their sheer catalog of polished jams that has us excited for this Boston four-piece. It's because last time they came out to West Palm Beach was for SunFest 2012 and they rocked our faces off. It will feel like a mini-reunion for those lucky enough to be at both shows, and we hope the same kind of positive energy will be conjured up.
1. Surfer Blood
Nabbing the top spot is none other than West Palm's own Surfer Blood. It's been far too long since they played a gig in their hometown and since the last album, their sophomore offering, Pythons, was released, meaning we have a lot new to hear. The crowd will, no doubt, be full of friends of the band and people they went to high school with. A homecoming for Surfer Blood and an all too rare treat for locals, their performance is sure to set the crowd off, and have us all blushing with hometown pride.
