The official PR description for Flow Tribe is as follows: "Straight out of New Orleans and into your earholes, Flow Tribe comes at you with the delicacy of a sledgehammer." Now, we didn't know too much about the group before we heard about their concert tonight at the Funky Buddha Lounge, but after giving them a listen, we are inclined to agree with this assertive statement.

Monday? Who cares. The New Orleans-based funk-rock sextet will help you forget the gruesome week ahead with Saturday-night worthy grooves.

And to make things even more sweet, the concert only costs five bucks. So if you spent as much money as we did this past weekend, or if you've got Art Basel plans for the rest of the week, this show can still fit into a modest budget.

Flow Tribe consists of six veterans to the music scene that have been playing together since 2004, and touring relentlessly in the interim. They've got all the accessories of a successful Cajun funk group: A trumpet, harmonica, washboard, absurd purple suits, and, considering they are a sextet of white dudes, they certainly manage to capture that funky, soulful swag unique to New Orleans.

The concert is part of a two week tour-de-Florida, during which Flow Tribe will hit up venues all the way from Destin to Key West. The NOLA crew is being brought to Boca by Brotherly Love Productions, South Florida's tastemakers in the jam/funk live music scene. BLP has certainly had a kick-ass month, booking and presenting Zach Deputy, Dr. Fameus, Flow Tribe, Papadosio, and Greenhouse Lounge shows all within two weeks of each other. So get your Art Basel week started off right with BLP.

Flow Tribe will play at 8 p.m. Monday, December 3, at the Funky Buddha Lounge and Brewery, 2621 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton. Tickets cost $5.
