Of Montreal returns to South Florida!

​Just when those of us in Miami were beginning to despair at the thought of driving to Broward (or even West Palm!) for every decent indie rock show that came through South Florida, this morning opened a serious freaking ray of sunshine. After the still-lamented loss of Studio A a couple years back, the only venue within the county line that seemed suitable for mid-size acts was the then-newly opened Fillmore Miami Beach. 

In its relatively short existence in its current guise, the venue has brought down some pretty decent shows of all genres, but many of the recent shows announced for it haven't been that, uh, hip (telenovela stars, Pat Metheny). All that changed with one fell swoop this morning, when Live Nation, who operates the venue, announced four upcoming shows that should seriously excite the Apple-consuming demographic. (Oh, shit, I'm typing this on a MacBook Pro.). All tickets go on sale through livenation.com and physical outlets at the venues (but who does that).

*Arctic Monkeys, Apr. 1. All tickets are general admission; they cost $25 in advance, $27.50 day of show. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 19 at 10 a.m. 

*Of Montreal, Apr. 9. All tickets are general admission; they cost $26.50 in advance, $27 day of show. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 12 19 at 10 a.m.

*The Black Keys, Apr. 18. All tickets are general admission; they cost $29.50 in advance, $32 day of show. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 12 at 10 a.m.
