Chelsea and Rosalie Linnabary lost their beloved husband and father to a war in Afghanistan.

The U.S. Marine will never be forgotten.

And he inspired the birth of Hated For Trying Records, created by Tony from Die Trying and Johnny from To Be Hated's reaction to his loss.

South Florida has mad love for Chelsea, who literally grew up in the punk scene, going to shows from a young age, often with her punk rock mom and rockabilly dad, the people behind Scenemom Productions, who booked hundreds of shows here over the years.

Tony Die Trying says, "We're just working class street kids. We can't give her the world. But every band gave a piece of themselves. Basically, we're saying we give a fuck, that we care."

The first run of their first release is 100 numbered copies of their Cadence To Valor compilation, 27 tracks of South Florida ska, punk, hardcore, country, and Americana from right here. All the tracks were donated by the 25 bands who participated, and all proceeds generated from its $5 price tag go straight to Mom and baby.

The bands included on the comp are Charlie Pickett, To Be Hated, Die Trying!, Unit Six, Nobody's Hero, the 707s, Los Bastardos Magnificos, Severe Disappointments, Askultura, Pool Party, the City Lines, Good Shepard, the Ruins, Hardware Youth, Minority Assembly, Blood in the Bathroom, Hellhounds, Stereotype the Masses, Armageddon Man, Jason & the Punknecks, Vice City Rockers, Lonewolf OMB, Riot Agents, Jolly Badfellow, Desistance, Out Of Sorts, & Fat Judge.

Tony says, "Shout out to every band on there. It's been an honor . I came up with the name Cadence To Valor because it's like all one song, one tribute, one ballad for a Marine, his wife, and daughter. And the cover art is done by Chelsea herself."

The compilation drops tonight at Five Points Lounge with Charlie Pickett, To Be Hated, Good Shepard, The 707's, City Lines, and Los Bastardos Magnificos. There will also be food, a silent auction, and raffles for art, records, and tattoos.

Johnny says, "I have a feeling that just from the amount of bands that are on the comp and all the people who know Chelsea, Joe, and Debbie, we're gonna sell em' all the first night and have to make more. If you have been involved in music here for any amount of time, you know them."

Benefit for Chelsea and Rosalie Linnabary at 8 p.m. on Nov. 16 at Five Points Lounge, 2608 South Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, with Charlie Pickett, To Be Hated, Los Bastardos Magnificos, The 707's, Good Shepard, the City Lines, the 707's.
