Two bands responsible for some of the finest drunken-karaoke performances of all time are gracing the massive stage at Coral Sky Amphitheatre (most recently known as Cruzan Amphitheatre). Journey and the Steve Miller Band will be keeping rock 'n' roll at its most wailing and folksy alive and kicking in West Palm Beach.
For all the millennials out there, the Steve Miller Band created such gems as "Abracadabra," "Fly Like an Eagle," and "The Joker." Journey is the band responsible for the supercroonable "Don't Stop Believin' "; other popular songs include "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'," "Stone in Love," and "Wheel in the Sky." Whether you know it or not, your subconscious can recite every word to each of these songs, even if you were born just last week.
Journey seems to be headlining this tour. The band formed in San Francisco in the early 1970s, releasing its eponymous debut in 1975. From there, the group has dropped a whopping 15 additional albums, the most recent being Eclipse in 2011. After the success of 1983's Frontiers, the band separated for about ten years, until 1994. It re-formed in 1995 with a few new members.
Lead singer Steve Perry was replaced three times. The current (and third) man singing all the Journey songs live is Arnel Pineda, a Filipino YouTube sensation. The guy was once singing Journey covers on the internet and now belts out these classic tunes in front of packed venues. Just goes to show that you should take Perry's advice and "don't stop believin'."
