The drum 'n' bass party that started up back in May at Lake Worth's Speakeasy Lounge will have its fourth installment this Friday with veteran headliner A-Sides dropping an old school Jungle set for seasoned and baby bassheads.

"The vibes are great, and it's all about the music," says Rene Aguiar, who helps put on the event as part of the Speakeasy management team and also DJs each party as resident the Reazin. "The idea behind it was to bring all the drum 'n' bass fans in, new and old, to experience the original sound of jungle music, the roots, where it all started."

A-Sides has been deep in the bass scene since 1990, collaborating with some of the genre's heaviest hitters and going on to produce well over 500 tracks to date. In 2008, he joined up with Juan BassHead to create BassHead Music, a label that's put out releases by Otto Von Schirach, Datsik, Bassnectar, and Zeds Dead & the Killabits.

"Our goal is to bring the top drum 'n' bass producers and DJs in from around the world to exclusively play the old school jungle sounds," says Aguiar. "The songs that have been buried in our crates for years."

Junglizm IV, featuring DJ A-Sides and others. 9 p.m., Friday, August 16, at Speaksasy Lounge, 129 N. Federal Hwy., Lake Worth. Call 561-540-6328, or visit facebook.com/speakeasylw.
