The burgeoning, demented Americana scene in Lake Worth now has an official home. John Wylie, guitarist for country rock troupe Heavy Boots is starting up a new record label carrying some of the most promising (and twisted) punkabilly bands Palm Beach County has to offer.
Joining him on this venture will be Viva Le Vox lead singer/ guitarist Tony Bones and Everymen
frontman Sergio Witis, who all share ownership of the nascent label.
The three of them plan to release full-length albums by their respective
bands on the label in the coming months. The company, called Wayward
Entertainment, has not started promoting itself yet due to the fact its
website is not up and running. Wylie says they are aiming for a May 1
date to go live with the site, which will be equipped with a shopping
cart for disc sales as well.
Two thirds of the acts will take part in the Los Bastardos Magnificos album release party next Friday, March 25, at the Monterey Club. The show marks the first appearance by the Heavy Boots in BroCo, and should be quite a night.
Heavy Boots, Los Bastardos Magnificos, and Everymen. 9 p.m. Friday, March 25 at Monterey Club, 2608 S. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. No cover for 21+, $7 for 18-20. Click here.
