Earlier this month, Miami residents and BroCo folks who dabble in Magic City socializing were hit with the equivalent of a cultural 16-ton safe. The SEO-unoptimized BAR, AKA Black Bar, located at 28 NE 14th St., just a few doorways down from the Vagabond, announced that it would be shuttering the location and relocating in the fall.

Originally, the bar known to hold an above-average number of South Florida music bloggers on a nightly basis received notice to vacate after the July 4 weekend. And thus, a Jacuzzi Boys show was hastily assembled for Sunday. This, however, was not to be. The pool table is quiet, the backyard is empty, and the picnic tables are begging for answers.

This was posted on Bar's Twitter page last night:

Now, the bar has been retweeting the countless sad messages from regulars, and this ominous RIP photo lingers on the space's website.

P.S. What little solace we can offer in this sad news is that Jacuzzi Boys devotees with a full tank of gas should attend the band's other performance scheduled for the weekend. A mere 69.6 miles from BAR, the 500 block of Clematis Street in West Palm Beach will host the Boys and the Surfaris on Saturday, July 2, for the grand opening of Longboards.
