Earlier this week, Crossfade announced that music industry titan Bill Aucoin, most famous for managing KISS, had passed away at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Miami. According to family, he died following complications from prostate cancer. He was 66. Not only was he nationally known for his successes, but his artist management company worked with Miami-based Dreaming in Stereo, who have since posted a tribute.
Another of Aucoin's projects for the past eight years was Fort Lauderdale's Nothing Rhymes With Orange, and singer Carl Almasy Coccaro reached out to County Grind with a tribute as well. His message follows below.
Where do I begin, should I start 10 years ago, the day whereBill Aucoin, his co-managing partner Roman Fernandez, and my good
friend Ryan Sambrook walked up to Nothing Rhymes with Orange at The
Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale and said "You're right for this business,
you boys are gonna do special things." Should I talk about the mass
amounts of wisdom and assistance that they consistently threw upon us
during our rise to manageable status and musical education? What about
the considerable amounts of energy that they consistently found to help
plant the NRWO name round the gardens of the world including major radio
airplay and solid tours in hubs such as the United Kingdom, Australia,
and New Zealand? Maybe I should just speak about the endless laughs and
memories I shared with them in and out of their home? And I can't
forget about their respectable, friendly, and devoted nature as human
beings? All these conversations should be had, however the most
adequate thing to do
is just simply say, thank you, thank you for it all! The optimistic
attitude, devoted line of service, and motivation that helped kept us
afloat all these grueling years. Obviously, we're just beginning. He
will always be cherished and remembered for his loyalty, assistance,
and kind heartedness. A true classic!
