Raffa Jo Harris and Rainer Davies aka Raffa and Rainer have finally completed their follow up to 2005's Stolen Coal. The 11 track long player, No Mercy, was recorded on and off over the past two years at various locations in the Magic City and features over 30 different musicians and artists besides the amazing duo. Raffa's voice is sweet like the best sweet potato pie you ever had and the song-writing is tip-top and top notch on all of their output to this point.

In preparation for the album release party, they gave us a preview track to enjoy and frankly we can't get it out of our play list. The lilting ode to some of the best that the south has to offer is sprinkled with elements of Dixie-land jazz, bluegrass and of course Raffa's afore mentioned incredible vocals. There is a fair amount more instrumentation in general than some of their fairly sparse prior work. Additionally the album art comes courtesy of Ronnie and Christy over at the incredible Lucha Workshop.

Raffa's favorite color is yellow. Rainer's is hot pink. Look for a spring tour and some more NYC shows in the near future.

The CD release party is Friday December 18 at the Wynwood Social Club and features performances by Raffa and Rainer, Jesse Jackson and Danielle Steele.
