Break out your straw hats, your spoons and those coveralls you wore with one strap down back in middle school because it's time for a good old fashioned hoedown. From Friday May May 8 through Sunday May 10, Hollywood Beach will be home to some of the finest banjo picking acts this side of the Mississippi. Headlining the event is Patty Loveless, who is playing a special Mother's Day Show on Sunday. Joining Patty on Sunday is the Wildwood Valley Boys, Saturday has the Dan Tyminski Band, Audie Blaylock, and Gold Heart, and Steep Canyon Rangers kicks the festival off on Friday. So if you have time from 5-10 p.m. on Friday, Noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday, or 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, drop by Hollywood Beach and check out the free festival, grab some food and soak in the gorgeous spring sun. Oh and try as you might, it's impossible to be in a bad mood listening to bluegrass music.
