South Florida's Eight Best Concerts This Week

Jewel
Following her "Intuition" led Jewel to singing alongside country darling Dolly Parton on the track "My Father's Daughter" off her latest album, Picking Up the Pieces. Now, the Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter — who just so happens to be a New York Times best-selling author — will be serenading all her South Florida fans as she takes over the Parker Playhouse. Just be sure to leave your "Foolish Games" at the door.

The Jacuzzi Boys
Jacuzzi Boys — as pointed out by our sister paper, the Miami New Times — "may have become just as synonymous with the Magic City as Cuban sandwiches and hypodermic needles," but the 305-bred trio is escaping the Miami "Sun" and heading over to Fort Lauderdale for its first-ever gig at Rhythm & Vine.

AC/DC's Rock or Bust World Tour
From traveling the "Highway to Hell" in Sydney, Australia, to smashing guitars at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida, AC/DC is "Back in Black." So get ready to be shaken all night long as the Aussies bring their Rock or Bust World Tour to the 954.

Update: AC/DC's March 11 show, in addition to nine upcoming dates, is being rescheduled. AC/DC’s lead singer, Brian Johnson, has been advised by doctors to stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss.  

Donavon Frankenreiter
"I've learned a lot through all my surfing experiences," Donavon Frankenreiter told New Times back in 2013. "I really learned how to play music through bringing my guitar on all my surf travels. The first song I ever wrote was 'Free.' That was about being on the water and being close to the beach, for sure." Guess that must be why the professional surfer and musician is playing two back-to-back shows at Culture Room in Fort Lawdy.

Adam Lambert
Sure, Adam Lambert may have not been deemed America's pop music idol on the singing competition television series, but the singer is certainly living the dream. Aside from releasing his latest album — 2015's The Original High, which debuted at number three on the U.S. Billboard 200 — Lambert recently finished touring with Queen as the band's lead singer. Not too shabby for a runner-up.

For the Love Music Festival
For the Love Music Festival, as told to New Times last year by event producer Joshua Diaz, is "for the love of the art, of our town, Fort Lauderdale. We're trying to grow a culture here. We wanted to find bands who are proud of being from Fort Lauderdale or playing here." Reigning from the streets of Pompano Beach, this year's headliners, Further Seems Forever, will be joined by local faves Kids, Forlorn Strangers, Civilian, and others of the ilk. Don't miss it.

Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime
"We didn't really expect to be doin' this still," Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime drummer Scott Begin told New Times back in 2014. "It was kinda just for fun. We loved the music and playing for our friends, and it just kinda snowballed bigger and bigger till finally we went out on the road and said, 'Let's see if we get the same response as we do at home.' Then we never really stopped." Jam with Begin and the rest of the Badfish crew as Sublime's best tribute band plays the original band's self-titled album at Revolution Live.
