Is it really any surprise? Maxim magazine's annual Super Bowl bash is famously full of the perky, pneumatic flesh featured in its pages, as well as all the celebrities, pseudo-celebrities, and just wealthy and well-connected people who love it. Last year's edition in Tampa was A-lister heavy; this year's event should be no different. Details are thin on the ground, though -- no word on who's RSVPed yet, although considering Amanda Bynes appears on the mag's February cover, she seems a shoo-in. What is for sure: After all the rumors, the party is indeed on Saturday at the Raleigh, which Maxim confirmed when it recently ran a sweepstakes to give away a pair of tickets. As far as those tickets, yeah, they're not for the general public. The party is officially invite-only, although random shady ticket brokers online are offering some for sale. Ask some serious questions if you decide to go this route.
The biggest competition is the Playboy party, which was canceled last year in Tampa and whose follow-through seemed iffy this year. But the magazine was recently purchased by the Boca-based American Media, publisher of the equally, although differently salacious National Enquirer, Star, and Globe magazines.
Guess the infusion of cash from AMI, which is doing just fine, helped, and Playboy
will party on this Saturday at the Sagamore. The Black Eyed Peas are
set to help host, after their show that night at the American Airlines
Arena, and on the decks will be DJs Reach, Sky Nellor, and Ross One.
Again, tickets are floating around through brokers for upwards of
$1500; use your judgment.
