Ten Most Notorious Miami Heat Fans: From Stitches to Jimmy Buffett

Local rapper and internet phenomenon Stitches has made it known he loves the Miami Heat. In his artistic "Brick in Yo Face" video, one of his homeboys is wearing a LeBron James Heat jersey. In return for the love shown by Stitches, the Miami Heat warmed up to "Brick in Yo Face" before playoff games.

In recent radio interviews, Stitches let it be known he'd like to sit courtside for some of the World Champion's upcoming Heat games. At first glance, it seems unlikely a family-friendly sports team would want someone with an assault rifle tattooed on his cheek associated with its brand, but our hometown has a history of infamous b-ball fans. Here's a list of ten of the most notorious Heat lovers.

10. Jimmy Buffett

The singer of "Margaritaville" has a reputation for being chill, but not when it comes to basketball. The longtime Heat season ticket holder was kicked out of a Heat versus Knicks game in 2001 for cursing at a referee. In response, then Heat Coach Pat Riley told the ref, "You must not be a Parrothead." The referee, unaware "Parrothead" was a term for Buffett fans, told Riley if he insulted him again, he'd be ejected too.

9. Justin Bieber

The onetime Lakers fan showed up at American Airlines Arena for last year's Eastern Conference Finals with a bejeweled Miami Heat baseball cap, sunglasses, and a stone-cold poker face. The complete stranger sitting next to Bieber at the game found herself inundated with hate tweets from Beliebers who thought she was the teen idol's girlfriend.

8. Rudy Eugene

The Miami Zombie, who in 2012 famously stripped naked, accused a homeless man of stealing his Bible, then proceeded to eat his face until being shot dead by police, was a fan of our favorite team.

Said his girlfriend in a statement, "We often engaged in debates over what God really meant to people and who was the biggest Miami Heat fan."

7. Rick Ross

Controversy is never too far from the Bawse. Drive-by shootings aimed at his car, reports that his gangster persona is more fiction than fact, and the loss of endorsement money for pro-date-rape lyrics have all brought the local rapper down a bit. Cheering for the Heat brings him back up, as he's a regular courtside presence.

6. Burnie

Keep your eye on the Miami Heat mascot when attending games. This giant bird and/or personification of fire will take advantage of you if you turn your back. Eating your popcorn, spilling your drink, sitting on the lap, he has no shame humiliating you to get some laughs during game timeouts.

5. Marco Rubio

As Miami Beach's Alton Road sinks under water, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio continues to say he does not believe in global warming. One thing the Republican golden boy does believe in is the Miami Heat. He cheers the team on fairly regularly and provides analysis for the games on his Twitter account.

4. Lil Wayne

More of a fanemy than a fan. Lil Wayne espouses hatred for the Heat, saying LeBron James and Dwyane Wade didn't show the rapper proper respect when he got out of prison, but he certainly followed the team around to many different venues.

3. Trayvon Martin

The hoodie-wearing Miami Gardens teenager's shooting death at the hands of George Zimmerman a couple of years back caused a political and social firestorm that the Miami Heat team joined in on by taking a famous photograph with the entire team dressed in hoodies.

In a recent New Yorker profile, Kobe Bryant criticized the Heat for entering racial politics. Dwyane Wade responded, "Knowing that he is a big fan of the Miami Heat. That is something that we got behind. As a team. I can't even say the organization. It was as a team. We got behind it. And it was more so that than the color of his skin."

2. Filomena Tobias

In last year's playoff series against the Chicago Bulls, this Palm Beach socialite flipped Chicago center Joakim Noah a well-deserved middle finger. Her fury captured in photograph made for quite a few chuckles, until it was revealed she was accused years earlier of murdering her millionaire husband.

1. Stitches

If he does go to the game, we image the Heat organization prefers he don the Hellraiser mask from the "Brick in Yo Face" video rather than exposing the AK tattoo on his cheek. If he does get seats, don't expect Stitches to perform his hit song there. Not with the refrain of, "I love sellin' blow."
