This new video from West Palm Beach's artful synthesizer trio the Jameses might be dangerous for work consumption strictly because it's a joyful, scream-inciting affair. Directed by Sunset Television's Drew Blatman, the clip has immense
amounts of quick cuts that ensure an
extremely nostalgic buzz. The song is the b-side on the "Caribou/ 5th Dimension" 7-inch released last year by Captured Tracks.
In addition to a ton of great footage depicting the quirk and spunk of
South Florida -- the trailer homes, the greyhounds, shuffleboard, and
the beaches, bitches -- there's a good bit dedicated to last December's
Zitfest music event -- previewed here.
The weekend bash held at Lake Park's Orange Door was likely the
springboard the space needed to blossom into the now-ubiquitous Snooze
Theatre, which has dominated 2011's local music local music scene. And
yeah, there's bits of Jameses members Jesse Bryan, Dan McHugh and Danny
Hitchcock sprinkled into the madness.
Bryan recently told New Times that the Jameses are staying away from live performances for the most part right now to focus on completing their first album. Stay tuned. (Thanks to Jamie Cohen for the tip.)
