It's Timb Krueller's birthday. And the six-foot-three, perennial appreciator of the absurd will celebrate Friday with a bunch of South Florida favorites including the Freakin' Hott and Zombies! Organize!! He will play an acoustic set, though, so leave the fetish boots at home.
If you haven't heard of Timb or seen him (he's hard to miss as he's been known to walk around in huge, four-inch platform boots) Timb's the hilarious genre-hopping provocateur who will have you cracking up at industrial tunes like "Bodies" (Now let me see your body/ especially the hotties/ you been doin' pilates...show me your body sh sh sh show me your bo body) or at the slow strumming of "Confessions of an Addict," a song that starts out with a satirical heaviness about heroin and meth users before segueing into Timb's addiction to the show 24. (At first it's just a couple episodes/ no big deal...it starts to take over your life/ pretty soon it's box-dvd sets so you don't have to watch the commercials/ and then you got to get caught up to the current season...it got to point where my girlfriend started doing it with me/ she was even loading the DVDs in for me).
The show's at Fort Lauderdale's favorite downtown dive, the Poorhouse, and starts at 10 p.m. Admission is free.
