Iconic Miami rapper Trick Daddy (AKA Maurice Young) was arrested by members of the Broward County Drug Task Force yesterday at 10 a.m. at his Miramar home.
Why? Baby, 'cause he's a thug.
Trick was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, possession of cocaine, and driving with a suspended license.
"At 10:08 a.m., I witnessed Maurice Young, backing out of the driveway of his residence in a green, 2 door coupe," the arresting officer wrote in the police report. The officers were watching the house on a "sniff warrant" and waited until the rapper backed out of his driveway to approach him.
Trick immediately came clean about some cocaine and roaches inside. Poor Trick Daddy has lupus and lives alone, and this photo doesn't do him any justice. He's best-known for his Thugs Are Us and Thug Holiday albums. And everyone knows Trick loves the kids.
Showers? Maybe not. But kids? Of course.
Our sister paper Miami New Times' Crossfade blog outlined Trick's troubles with the law. These include serving two-and-a-half years in prison for cocaine, gun, and probation violation charges (sounds familiar); starting a fight and pulling a gun in 2003, acting up while watching, of all things, a high school football game; and most recently for punching someone on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach.
Read the police report below. Then light a candle for Trick. The man looks like he could use all the help he can get.
