Back in January, Denise McCoy was arrested for allegedly running a prostitution ring with another woman through Sara's Entertainment escort service.
Denise is married to Samuel McCoy, who happens to be a nine-year veteran of the Boca Raton Police Department.
And due to his wife's charges, McCoy, 31, has resigned his position as a cop.
Denise McCoy, and her business partner Sara Marin, were arrested after a 39-year-old Brazilian woman told authorities that she had been forced into prostitution by the women after they threatened to have her deported.
This prompted a six month investigation by authorities that nabbed McCoy and Marin on charges of money laundering, conspiracy to commit money laundering and deriving support from the proceeds of prostitution.
A conviction of these charges could land them in prison for up to 25 years. Both women have plead not guilty on their charges.
According to court records, Samuel McCoy had no part of his wife's prostitution business, and didn't even know how she made her money.
He has not been charged with any crime.
But the stigma of being a cop whose wife happens to be an alleged town madam doesn't exactly fly, so he's no longer with the department.
McCoy was put on administrative leave back in January when Denise and Marin were arrested.
During that time, the Boca PD conducted an internal investigation on him, but now that Samuel has resigned, the investigation is officially closed.
But McCoy hasn't exactly been a model cop either.
The department had investigated him in the past for looking at porn on his city-issued computer and taking pictures of his junk while on-duty.
