Charles Valerie lived a short, sad life. According to a report just issued by the Broward Sheriff's Office, Valerie killed himself at the county jail just before 11 last night by fashioning a noose from his bed sheet and hanging himself from the ceiling. He was 33 years old.
According to the report: "Earlier that evening, Valerie had told another inmate that he had been a drug addict since he was 14 and couldn't face more prison time."
Valerie lived in Wellington and was awaiting trial on charges of "aggravated fleeing and eluding, grand theft, petit theft, car burglary, and possession of burglary tools."
As of this writing, the report of Valerie's arrest had already disappeared from the Broward Sheriff Department's website.
