Last week, we brought you the story of a guy named Johnnie Blade who was walking around dangerously waving a sword used by the Klingons in Star Trek. It was a wacky, humorous story, and no one got hurt in the end (except for maybe the feelings of a few Trek dorks who took offense to our lack of knowledge of the proper Klingon language in that post).
On the other side of the Crazy Florida Sword Stories spectrum comes the report of an Orlando man stabbing his half-brother to death with a sword after the two got into an argument over some dog shit.
Yeesh.
According to Orlando police, 27-year-old Michoall Chang was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after he stabbed and killed his half-brother, 17-year-old Marcus Isaias.
Police say Chang and Isaias were having an argument about a drug deal and dog feces when things escalated quickly.
During the heated exchange, Chang stabbed Isaias in the chest with a sword.
Isaias apparently had a twin, who police say was holding Marcus in his arms when they arrived on the scene. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
When neighbors heard about the incident, they were, sadly, not surprised in the least that this happened, telling CFNews13 that police were a constant presence at the brothers' home.
"They would call the police a lot, so it wasn't unusual," said Pat Criddle, a member of the Lake Barton Village Neighborhood Watch."Their grandfather just died a few weeks ago," said neighbor Yvette Archambault. "It's heartbreaking. I can't believe somebody would kill him. I fed all them. How can someone do this?"
Every now and then, it's funny and fun to report the quirkiness of Floriderp and all the crazy, wacky characters who inhabit it and get themselves into trouble with the law.
This is not one of those times.
