Time to bust out the heavy clothes, scarves and all that useless winter crap you thought you'd never get to use, Florida. It's about to get cold up in hurrrrr.

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch for western Broward and Palm Beach counties this weekend, starting Saturday afternoon.

A wind chill watch has also been issued for inland Palm Beach County.

Temps are expected to dip down to the low-to-mid 40s, with wind chill temps dropping to the 30s (and as low as the ballfreezing 20s in far western areas).

The National Weather Service issued the watch mainly to give Florida farmers a heads-up to protect their crops, and for nurseries to protect plants.

This weekend will be the coldest weather we've experienced so far this winter, seeing how "cold" down here usually means 60s most of the time.

The cold will ease its way in on Saturday afternoon, as the weather will be breezy and mild before we get hit in the face with The Freeze in the evening.

Sunday will see highs in the low 60s during the day, with temps dropping again to the mid 40s at night.

The cold is expected to last through Monday afternoon.
