A viewing of departed Cuban American Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez will be open to the public tonight at St. Brendan's Catholic Church just off Galloway Road at SW 32nd Street in Miami from 5 to 11 p.m.
Even more people are expected at the west plaza of Marlins Park at 2 p.m. A funeral motorcade will leave from the west side of the stadium at 2:16 p.m. — an homage to Fernandez's number 16.
Tomorrow, a mass for the pitcher, who was killed early Sunday morning in a boat crash off South Beach, will be attended by the Fernandez family, Marlins players, coaches, and front office personnel.
The Fernandez family requests charitable contributions to the JDF16 Foundation at the Miami Foundation. Fans can donate by sending checks to the Miami Foundation at 40 NW Third St. #305, Miami, FL, 33128 or online.
