Quick audible on today's Jeb Bush update: This post was originally about Bush endorsing Republican Rep. Connie Mack in the Senate race for Bill Nelson's seat, which is news because people like Jeb and a former governor endorsing a primary candidate means it's either a sure thing or Bush thinks the guy is just that amazing. Pick which one for yourself.
But there is bigger news today from the elder Bush bro -- he went on CBS this morning and turned down even the potential for a VP nomination from Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney (who has also endorsed Mack).
It's a fascinating interview, if you've got a few minutes to spare -- he disagrees with Obama without making any references to socialism or Jesus or holding aspirins between your knees. In fact, he says he doesn't even mind praising the guy a little bit when it's due.
He also talks quietly, which is a nice change so early in the damned morning. Most interesting quote: When asked about the presidency, Bush says,"This was probably my time."
