Nothing like being woken up in the middle of the night by random gunfire and then having a car slam into your house.
That's what happened in Pompano Beach on Tuesday morning, when a car was being shot at. The vehicle swerved to avoid the bullets and crashed into a house in the 100 block of NE 35th Street, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
The incident occurred just before 1:30 a.m.
According to investigators, several people were standing around a vehicle when they spotted another car coming down the road.
For some reason, these people decided to pull out their guns and use the oncoming car as target practice.
Not wanting to be shot, the driver of the car accelerated, lost control, and slammed into the decorative trim wall in front of a home. The gunmen then hopped into their vehicle and sped off.
No one was shot, thanks to either the driver's James Bond-like reflexes or not a single solitary person in the group being a good shot. Both the driver of the car or the passenger suffered only minor cuts and bruises from the crash. As you can see in the pic above, the front of the car suffered extensive damage.
A nearby church was struck by the gunfire, as was a car parked not far from the home.
The gunmen's car was found abandoned in Lauderhill.
Authorities are still investigating.
