The only thing that seems to be on the up-and-up with Gov. Rick Scott is his disapproval rating.
Floridians disapprove of the governor's job performance more than they approve by a two-to-one margin, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released yesterday.
But Peter Brown -- assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling
Institute -- is fairly optimistic about Scott's ability to improve in the eyes of voters.
"It probably doesn't make him feel any better that the State Legislature is sharing the
basement suite in the eyes of the electorate," the pollster says in a statement. "The good news for the governor is that he has three
and a half years to turn public opinion around."
Still, Florida voters are upset about Scott's job performance now -- only 3 percent of those surveyed said they were "very satisfied" with the way things are going in the state right now, compared to 29 percent who responded "very dissatisfied."
It's not a nationwide trend to hate on governors either. Out of the ten states the university polls, Scott's the most-disliked governor there is.
