Carl Willis is the name of the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office community aide killed in a crash Tuesday. Here's the release from PBSO:

It is with deep regret and great sadness that Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, District 14 (Lake Worth) informs you of the passing of Community Service Aide Carl A. Willis on Tuesday, 9/01/09. CSA Willis was driving to work early Tuesday morning when he was involved in a single car fatal crash on State Road 80.

CSA Willis was hired by the City of Lake Worth on 9/20/94, and became part of the PBSO family on October 1, 2008 as part of the LWPD / PBSO Merger. He was a devoted employee of both agencies who took great pride in his work and could always be counted on.

We are still making every effort to notify Carl's next kin.

More information on funeral arrangements and services will be released as soon as they become available.
