Women from all over the state descended upon Davie for the annual Miss Florida USA pageant this weekend. And because the Fur Information Council of America is one of the official pageant sponsors (and gives away fur coats as totally appropriate "prizes" for South Florida) animal activists were out in force, holding signs and telling passersby about the evils of the fur industry. Eventually security guards asked them to leave, but Davie police officers said they could stay.
