Rick Scott Is Changing His Mind About Things, Part II: More Early Voting Days

At first Rick Scott was all, NO EXTRA EARLY VOTING DAYS FOR OUR STATE, EVAR!

And then everyone started to hate him and think he's awful because they realized he's a beady-eyed pustule with dumb GOPer agendas and an affinity to eat people's souls (allegedly!).

But now, all of a sudden as if by magic and wonderment, Scott is changing his mind about the very things that could and would potentially wreck his hopes for reelection.

Scott appeared on The CNN Wednesday morning and told Soledad O'Brien that the state needs a longer early voting period.

*record scratch*

If only Rick Scott had been around when Rick Scott shortened early voting from two weeks to one!

Also, back in November, when people were waiting eight or more hours to cast their vote, Scott was asked to extend early voting by ONE. DAY.

He refused.

"We've got to restore confidence in our elections," Scott told The CNN.

Because going on an arbitrary voter fraud crusade that basically only made it harder for people to vote, and then pushed a bill to shorten early voting days, and shut down voting on Sundays when most black churches traditionally gathered to vote together, and then refusing to extend things when people were waiting in line like Russians waiting for toilet paper in the 1980s, is certainly one way to restore all that lost confidence!

Scott said that three things were to blame for the long lines in November:

- The ballot was too long ("This took some people 40 minutes to get through. There were local issues, state issues. And it was just too long.")

TOO MANY WORDS. IT SHOULD JUST HAVE PICTURES OF THE CANDIDATES AND NOTHING ELSE.

- Early voting sites being limited to city halls, libraries and elections offices

THE VOTING PLACES IS THE REAL PROBLEM HERE. ALSO, WE SHOULD HOLD VOTES BEHIND A 7-11

- Number of early voting days not being long enough, like they were before he fucked things up: ("We've got to go back and look at number of days we have.")

WE CURRENTLY HAVE 7 DAYS OF EARLY VOTING. LOOK AT IT!!!

When asked if he took any blame for any of this, Scott tried a magic trick where he blamed the state legislature for changing the time period.

Fascinatingly enough, in this magic trick, he failed to show that the 2011 HB 1355 bill was signed by.... WAIT .... FOR .... IT..... Rick Scott!

*ta-da!*

"We've got to have a bipartisan group come together and say we've got to improve this," he said. "We've got to restore the confidence of all elections in Florida."

If only Rick Scott can run against Rick Scott in 2014! WHAT A WORLD THIS WOULD BE.
