You may or may not be aware of this, but other parts of the country go through what scientists call "winter weather" this time of year.
You may have noticed the difference already, with a bit of a cool breeze blowing in, with some dry air, making opening certain doors fun (*zap!*).
Afternoon temperatures are expected to be in the upper 60s and low 70s. But as the evening rolls around, things are going to get downright chilly, with readings in the low to mid 40s.
The cold blast is expected to last until Saturday afternoon, when things get back into the mid 60s, but we could see some lows in the 40s Saturday night as well.
The good news is, the weekend is expected to be sunny and clear, so those who prefer sand and surf over shoveling ice and snow off driveways in December, it's party time, USA.
Things will get back to being more South Florida-y on Monday, Christmas Eve, with highs in the mid 70s. Christmas Day is forecast to be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 70s.
All the cold weather comes from a nasty cold front vomiting its deepfreeze onto us and the rest of the country. North Florida is expected to dip into the 20s tonight, while places like Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin will be what forecasters call "cold as balls" with temperatures falling into the single digits.
So, no complaints out there. It's time to dust off that old sweater (don't forget the boots, ladies!), and bundle up as best as we know how.
Oh and don't forget to bring the pets inside tonight.
No one enjoys petting a catsicle.
