Lamarcus Joyner must have looked at a football schedule recently and said, "Fine, then. I'll fly out to watch USC play Notre Dame on Saturday." And why not? Free plane ticket. Free ticket to the sold-out game. Free food. Free lodging. It's good to be a star player at St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale.
The funny thing is that Joyner -- a self-professed "freak of nature" -- may not even be interested in Notre Dame, which is footing the bill.
An ESPN website, IrishSportsDaily.com, which broke the news of Joyner's visit, says that he's already announced Florida, Florida State, and Ohio State
as his leaders. It sounds like Joyner just elected to join some
teammates who are legitimately interested in Notre Dame: running back
Giovanni Bernard, lineman Brandon Linder, and cornerback Cody Riggs,
who are all making the visit.
