Thank goodness there's a big name in politics standing up for Rep. Allen West in his battle against Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz -- even though he's a comedian/newsman.
"We know the tone of our political discourse in Washington hits a new low every day," Stephen Colbert said on his show last night. "How are we supposed to get past the partisan rancor when the Democrats are complete assholes?"
That's why Colbert says he's standing up for West, the "black David Letterman," over Wasserman Schultz, the "home perm after-model."
Colbert showed the clip of Wasserman Schultz referencing West on the House floor, saying he had to "open the C-SPAN sewer and show the bile she spewed at this good man."
He then proceeded to call Wasserman Schultz a "whore" and "harlot" and asked what kind of "$3 brothel" she was raised in. Colbert agreed with West's comment that Wasserman Schultz "is no Lady."
