A teacher at Mavericks Charter High School in Pompano Beach -- a school Joe Biden's brother once called "a hope factory" that would "save the country" -- was arrested Thursday for using Facebook to solicit sex from at least four students ranging in ages 15 to 17.

According to a Broward Sheriff's Office news release, the teacher invited students to her Boca Raton home, and offered them pot. She also allegedly sent messages such as, "I don't want you to fall in love with me but I also don't want you to hit it and quit it either".

According to the BSO, Stevie Glasspool, 31, was arrested on Thursday and is charged with "soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using a computer."

Glasspool had been a teacher at Mavericks Charter High, but was fired back in May . She was most recently employed at Hollywood Academy of Arts & Science where she worked for the first four days of the new school year.

This isn't the first time Mavericks has been at the center of controversy.

In May of 2012, New Times reported that the school faced three whistle-blower lawsuits alleging that two of its schools inflated attendance records and improperly altered grades.

In February of 2012, the Palm Beach County School Board denied Maverick's request to open three new schools, basically because the for-profit company's claims about its academic achievements could not be verified. A number of the Mavericks schools have graduation rates below 15 percent.

The company used Vice President Joe Biden's brother, Frank, as a spokesperson to try and help them get those three schools built.

In other words, Mavericks has a long history of being a total and complete mess.

As for Glasspool and her underage victims, BSO detectives believe there could be more of them out there, and are urging them to come forward.

Glasspool is being held in the Broward County jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact BSO Detective Ann Suter at 954-321-4689 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
