The deal: This sunny Italian restaurant with exposed brick and a simple, spacious dining room offers a number of $9.99 lunch specials daily.
What you get: A house garden or caesar salad with crisp
croutons, a soda or iced tea, and one of a dozen specialty sandwiches
or Italian dishes like lasagna or pizza.
We tried: A
stracchino and speck panino marries creamy cow's milk cheese with a
mild mozzarella flavor with a thin layer of juniper-smoked speck. The
homemade focaccia it's made on is crusty and airy with an appealing
texture. Another Florentine-style panino had chicken breast, spinach,
tomato, and goat cheese -- the spinach was frozen, however.
Bonus Points:
Staff is friendly and accommodating. Quick service means you get a sit-down meal but can get in and out before your lunch break is up.
