No. 37: G.O.A.T. Cookies From Sugar Rush
Sugar Rush is a rare food truck, one that doesn't make fatty burgers or cheese-filled sandwiches. Instead, it focuses on the real prize: dessert. From its home base of
Sweetness Bake Shop and Cafe in Miami, Sugar Rush ventures nightly across South Florida with some of the most incredible sweets, cookies, and cakes ever put on four wheels. Seriously... the stuff they make would make your inner fat kid burst out of your chest like the Kool Aid Man. Case in point: Whoopie pies made with chocolate and bacon, red velvet milkshakes with a whole piece of moist cake thrown in, Krispie Kreme bread pudding, and (OMG, yeah!) G.O.A.T. cookies! Wait... what the heck is a G.O.A.T. cookie? Well, it stands for "greatest of all time," and what it lacks in modesty, it makes up with in pure win. Essentially, it's a chocolate chip cookie with a layer of gooey chocolate fudge baked right in the center. Every element is flawless: the fudge is not too dry and not too runny, the chocolate is creamy and rich, the cookie is soft and pliant. Grab one -- along with a frickin' insane chocolate milkshake with tiny chocolate shavings inside -- when next Sugar Rush is in Broward (that's usually Pembroke Pines, but be sure to check the deets on the Tweets).
