A new American spot, 75 Main, is slated to open in Delray April 12. The space showcases a tailored bar, white walls, bold modern art, and glass doors that open to Atlantic Avenue.
An after-hours lounge bouys the back of the restaurant, lapped in coffee browns and dim lighting.
A sibling to the Hampton Italian restaurant, the original 75 Main is the setting for gossip columns when the likes of Jonah Hill and Dina Lohan dine there. Zach Erdem, restaurateur, has plans for future locations elsewhere.
Chef John Thomas will serve as executive chef, the former toque at The Seagate Hotel and line cook at 32 East for seven years. "I don't pigeonhole my style of cooking," he says. "I cook with the best ingredients I can find that results in simple straightforward food."
Among menu items on the draft is tomato confit bruschetta, seared big eye tuna, Hudson Valley foie gras, and pork belly banh mi sliders (see photo). The restaurant will also serve brunch daily.
75 Main is one of several restaurants slated to open on the strip between spring and summer. Next door to Park Tavern, expect Salt the Restaurant, a sushi bar and steak house, as well as Racks Italian Bistro and Market at 5 SE Second Ave. from Gary Rack scheduled for a summer opening.
