Bluejay's Café located in Fort Lauderdale's Himmarshee Village has not been in operation for at least two weeks. Multiple phone calls to the owners' business and mobile phones have been unanswered.
No word if the husband-and-wife owners of the Southwestern-inspired eatery have closed it temporarily or permanently. There is no sign on the glass doors,
and restaurant supplies, such as wine and cutlery, remain stocked in the dining room. The outdoor patio tables are packed and locked inside.
The café, which opened last summer, is well-received by locals as a fresh dining alternative in the Himmarshee area. Weekend brunch was a popular midmorning destination featuring customer favorites like Bluejay's breakfast with chorizo scrambled eggs atop a bed of potatoes.
