A new Dennis Max establishment will be coming to Delray Beach after Ceviche Tapas relinquishes its spacious indoor/outdoor space at 116 NE Sixth Ave. A spokesman for Max confirmed the space has been secured, but details regarding the concept are still in the works.
The restaurant group -- made up of restaurateur Max and business partner Fred Stampone as well as consulting chef Patrick Broadhead -- currently operates several independent restaurants concepts and a catering company, Max/Hansen.

In South Florida, Max's establishments include Max's Harvest in Delray Beach, Max's Grille in Boca Raton, and his joint venture Burt and Max's with restaurateur Burt Rappaport in west Delray Beach. Max is known for bringing his California-style cuisine to South Florida beginning in the 1980s with restaurants such as Café Max, Max's Place, and Maxaluna. To date, Max and his partners have owned and operated dozens of concepts, including their flagship Max's Grille in Boca Raton, which opened in Mizner Park in 1991.
Ceviche, which opened in December of 2012, officially closed for business on Tuesday, July 29. The Florida-based, upscale tapas bar and restaurant currently has several locations across the state including Orlando, Tampa, and St. Petersburg. Each has been stamped with a unique interior decor that includes accents of brick and tiled floors, dark leather chairs, mosaic tabletops, and painted brick walls. The concept's most recent location was Delray Beach and featured a sprawling ceviche tapas bar offering more than 100 small plates just a few blocks north of the city's downtown restaurant row.
The restaurant's Facebook page states there are plans to relocate the chain's fourth location within South Florida, perhaps somewhere in the Palm Beach or Broward County area. Stay tuned to Clean Plate Charlie for more information on both restaurant openings.
