National holidays are always a big deal in the country they celebrate.
Bastille Day is massive in France; Australia Day is pretty epic Down Under; Canadians go crazy over their big day; and we all know about the heavy drinking/barbecuing/pyromania that comes with Independence Day here.
Sure, honoring your country is a big deal, but it's an even bigger deal when other countries celebrate for you.
Aside from St. Paddy's Day, one of Mexico's favorite holidays is one of the biggest party days in the United States -- hey, who doesn't love margaritas and Mexican food?
Here are ten parties to check out on Cinco de Mayo.

Cantina Laredo, Hallandale Beach
This Village of Gulfstream Park spot is going big for the big day. It's taking over the street with a DJ, promo servers, and drink specials (specialty margaritas, Dos Equis Ambar and Lager, Tecate, and more).
Funky Buddha Brewery, Oakland Park
Just because it's the norm, you don't have to drink crappy beer. At 7 p.m., Funky Buddha Brewery is pairing unique brews and salsa from Chaco's Chinese tacos for $20.
Rocco's Tacos, all locations
Known for its massive parties, Rocco's Tacos is throwing Cinco de Drinko celebrations at all South Florida locations (Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens). They'll includes live entertainment, mariachi bands, prizes, and free tequila pourings.
Kapow! Noodle Bar, Boca Raton
For an Asian take on the Western Hemisphere's favorite day, head to Kapow! Noodle Bar's Sake de Mayo. It's offering $3 Sapporo sake bombs, $5 hot sake carafes, and $5 Partida margaritas.
Cabo Flats, Delray Beach and Palm Beach Gardens
To ring in the festivities, both Palm Beach Gardens and Delray Beach locations will be celebrating for the entire weekend. On Saturday, it's drink specials, a mariachi band, and live DJ in the evening. Sunday, it's fun for the whole family with mariachis, bands, drink specials, and giveaways. The party culminates on Monday with drink specials, giveaways, and a few surprises.
Havana Hideout, Boynton Beach
This Boynton Beach favorite is offering holiday specials all day long: $2 tacos, $2 margaritas, $10 mix buckets of Mexican cerveza, $4 chips and salsa. Mexican Volley Beer starts at noon. Kan Jam starts at 6 p.m. (winner gets a $50 tab). And giveaways will be featured all day.
Pistache French Bistro, West Palm Beach
Cinco de Mayo doesn't have to be crappy Americanized tacos and watered-down brew -- unless that's what you're into. Pistache is classing it up with Mexican-inspired specials.
Snapper Veracruz is achiote spiced with arroz verde, roasted tomato jalapeño sauce, and pickled cauliflower ($28). Red mole braised short ribs come with
smokey string beans, queso añejo mashed potatoes, and grilled knob onions ($28). Tres Amigas cocktails and St Germain Margaritas are the drinks of the day.
PB Catch, Palm Beach
This Palm Beach seafood spot is offering Mexican coastal fare for the day. Rock shrimp tamales come with salsa verde ($16). Grilled swordfish is served with corn cakes, epazote, and red mole ($34). Seafood pozole is being served with huitlacoche ($34).
Cantina Laredo, Palm Beach Gardens
To honor its heritage, Cantina Laredo is hosting a party on the patio for the day. It includes a DJ, promo servers, and drink specials from 5 p.m. onward. Specialty cocktail features include a new Pop-a-Rita ($12.50) a strawberry margarita on the rocks with a coconut popsicle stir stick. The Cinco Mas 'Rita ($11.50) combines Giro by Sauza, Hornitos, Herradura, and Cazadores Silver Tequilas with Cointreau Orange Liqueur, lime juice, agave nectar, and a sidecar of Patron Silver. Maya Cigars will be onsite hand-rolling cigars; the first 20 people will receive a complimentary cigar.
