Anytime you go out on a Saturday night, you know you're going to blow through some money. Unfortunately, all you're going to get in return is a deflated bank account and some possible drunken remorse.
If, for once, you would actually like to get drunk for a good cause, Posh is hosting a fundraiser for the animal rescue group 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida. The group has been responsible for saving the lives of close to 700 dogs this year. But it desperately needs help. The event takes place Saturday, March 9. Details after the jump.

"Every month we've been going out and pulling 20 to 30 dogs per rescue," says Amy Joy Roman of 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida, "There are thousands and thousands of pets roaming out in West Dade. This month 100 volunteers dropped off 5,000 pounds of food, which doesn't last very long, and brought in 22 dogs. Each rescue ends up costing us about $20,000. We can't save every dog."
An animal lover himself, John Jahno, the owner of Posh Lounge agreed to host a fundraiser for the rescue group. All proceeds will go directly to 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida directly. According to Roman, "He's not charging us a penny and every penny received from the event will go directly to us."
The rescue group desperately needs the funds. "We're always begging for money," says Roman, "I have not pride left. We're always begging for food. And we're always begging for homes. Every animal we bring in goes to Imperial Point Animal Hospital in Fort Lauderdale for veterinary treatment. The stay there and I pay for boarding. We spend about $4,000 to $5,000 a month to board them, because I don't have fosters lined up."
Entrance to the event is $20 per person, which includes two drinks, hors d'oeuvres, raffle prizes, and entertainment. Again, all proceeds will directly benefit the 501(c)3 charity. It takes place at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 9.
