Thirteen

kinds of biscotti and an array of Italian pastries line the shelves

at Cosi Duci, an Italian bakery that draws recipes from Sicily. The appeal here isn't just the pastries, though. It's the three-course

weekday lunch, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays for $10.

Take what you're served, since there's no

menu, though it's bound to be delicious. Among the day's items you

might find something akin to today's lunch: lentil soup, penne with

asparagus and zucchini, followed by chicken Cacciatore with homemade focaccia

bread.

Giovanna Fausto opened the shop in 2007 in response to her son learning

he has multiple sclerosis. She decided to help the way she knew how: by

cooking for a

cure. A portion of all proceeds go toward the MS Society.

For those with a sweet tooth who are gluten-free, take note: Fausto

offers a line of Italian baked goods just for you.
