Cows. Sweet innocent spotted creatures happily grazing in a green meadow....plotting on ways to screw over their fellow farm creatures in a desperate measure to gain a foothold in the food chain.

We never thought cows were so cunning...so devious....so willing to serve up a chicken (literally and figuratively) so they could live.

It's true, though. Take, for example, Chick-fil-A's marketing campaign where cows encourage people to "eat more chikn". They may not be able to spell, but these bovines sure know survival tactics!

To celebrate sneaky bovines everywhere, Chick-fil-A is celebrating cow appreciation day today, Friday, July 13. What's in it for you? A free meal if you walk into your nearest Chick-fil-A dressed like a cow. Here's the deal:

  • Come in dressed head to hoof in full cow regalia and get a free meal.
  • Come in dressed partially like a cow and get a free entree.
  • Calves

(children) are eligible, too (and are probably more apt to wear a set of horns and

a bell than a grownup). Here's a warning -- your teen will probably not want to go

along with this promotion, and forcing your 16 year-old-daughter to wear

udders at the mall for a free sandwich might not be considered stellar

    parenting.

Don't have a costume? Here's a "cow starter kit",

which consists of cow parts to print out and tape onto various parts of

your body. Need more help in dressing like a milk-producing mammal?

There's an app for that!

You can also enter to win a $100 gift card to Chick-fil-A by uploading your best photo dressed like a cow. Forget Magic Mike -- this is the real beefcake!

So

remember today, if you're feeling a little....um....peckish for chicken

at lunch don't have a cow -- dress like one and get a free meal.

Just

don't get angry -- because nobody likes a mad cow!
