Betty's is soul food done right -- and for more than 30 years, this Fort Lauderdale establishment has been serving some of the best Southern cuisine South Florida has to offer.

Tucked between Sistrunk Boulevard and 22nd Road, Betty's serves every meal of the day, but lunchtime is perhaps the most popular, bringing the local

business crowd together for a menu that boasts pig tails, catfish, fried chicken -- and yes -- even chitterlings.

You'll find that the selections are inexpensive -- most dishes are priced $6 to $10 -- with plenty to choose from. Try the oxtail with collard greens, pillow-soft corn bread, and candied yams (the last of which should be offered as a dessert).
