As with most men, we at Clean Plate Charlie say the way to a dad's heart on Father's Day is through his stomach. Instead of cooking dear old dad his favorite food, why not treat him to something truly special?

To help with ideas, we've gone ahead and whipped up a few gift suggestions for all the food-loving fathers out there. With steals from area restaurants serving up Father's Day deals and specials, to plenty of beer and burger-related food events, this year you'll be sure to make his day. What better way to say "thanks" to Dad -- in a foodie sort of way.

Take Him For Free Food and Drink

Pampas Grill in City Place West Palm Beach lets dad eat for free all month, while Bistro in Jupiter means a free meal for fathers on June 16 (one dad for a four person table) Pizza Fusion always has a deal to deliver, and this Father's Day it's free drink with your food. Treat dad to a pizza on June 16 and you'll get a free draft beer or Honest tea. At Steak 954 in Fort Lauderdale, the annual Father's Day dinner deal is on with this year's special brunch and dinner menu served with a complimentary hand rolled cigar, and two uniquely crafted Father's Day cocktails, "The Old School" and "Dad's Glory." At Hooters, Dad gets 10 free wings with the purchase of 10 wings. And if you want to take father furniture shopping he'll get free breakfast and coffee at IKEA. End the day with a sweet treat and with this coupon get a free cannoli at Buca di Beppo.

Splurge on a Bottle of Angel's Envy Rye Whiskey

Louisville Distilling Company is giving whiskey enthusiasts something unique to look forward to this Father's Day with the new, limited release of Angel's Envy Rye, a super-premium whiskey currently only available in small quantities in less than a dozen states -- Florida one of them -- making it a truly dad-worthy gift. The unique mix of 95% rye and 5% malted barley is aged for six years in American new charred oak barrels, then finished in hand-selected Caribbean rum casks, which began as small French cognac barrels, for up to 18 months. The mingling of raw, spicy and earthy rye notes paired with the sweetness imparted by rum finishing results in an ultra-smooth rye whiskey, even at 100 proof. Just as good: the Papa's Pilar white and dark rums for the perfect Father's Day mojito.

Tickets To The Boca Burger Battle

Help dad discover the top tasting burger in South Florida on July 13 with tickets to the annual Boca Burger Battle food fest held from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Sanborn Square Park in downtown Boca Raton. Get ready for the grill-off with some of the area's best restaurants -- including Gimme A Burger, Rebel House, Shake Shack and Jazziz -- going bite-to-bite for the title of "Best Burger." Visit here.

A Growler of Beer

The new Funky Buddha Lounge brewery in Fort Lauderdale (and the original Boca brew pub location) will be serving limited release 12-ounce pours all week, but if dad can't make it, bring the deliciousness home to him, instead. Large 1 gallon and 32-ounce growlers are available "to go" for special select brewery standard favorites, including the Hop Gun IPA, and will run you anywhere from $8 to $28.

Tickets To The Palm Beach Craft or Summer Beer Fest

The Palm Beach Craft Beer Fest (PBCB) and South Florida's first-ever indoor beer festival are about to go down -- both coming to the area soon. The PBCB will take place in downtown West Palm Beach on June 22, while on Saturday, July 20, the first-ever Palm Beach Summer Beer Festival will kick-off at the South Florida Fair Grounds. Treat dad to an afternoon (or a full day) of craft beer with a pair of tickets to the event, and say you were the among the first to attend. If you plan ahead, you'll save: tickets are $35 in advance, and $40 the day of the event. A special VIP ticket will get you access to a private tasting area where you can try exclusive craft beer samples and free food. For more information, go here.
