Maybe we're just getting excited, but it feels like there might be a slightly cooler breeze in the air. We're getting closer and closer to 'season' being here, which means that more and more food and drink events will start popping up every weekend.

Either way, the end of this workweek is going to be a good one. Whether you're looking to get your garden going for the fall growing season, party it up for Sunday funday, or party with some Brazlians, something is sure to tickle your taste-buds over the next few twenty-four-hour periods.

5. Edible Gardening Class

Growing anything in Florida takes work. Growing veggies is even harder. Fortunately, we have people that are here to offer free help. To get you growing Karin Fields, a.k.a. the Edible Gardening Gal, is teaching a free class at Marando Farms on Saturday at 10 a.m. It will be the first of a series that will take place on the first Saturday of every month. The class is free to attend. Fans and ice water will be provided, but it's slated to have high attendance: bringing your own lawn chair is highly recommended.

4. Sunday Outdoor Movies

With the turn of September, it would be nice to think that it's cooling off. It's not, but you might as well go outside anyway. On Sunday starting at 10 p.m., DaDa Restaurant and Lounge is hosting its weekly Sunday Outdoor Movies event on the patio. This week, it's showing Shadow of the Vampire and An American Werewolf in London.

3. Opening Party at The Pub

Every great house has a living room and a pub -- or at least you dream. On Friday the Living Room is celebrating the opening of the Pub, the part of the spot that has be redone in the style of the a cozy British pub,(you know wooden bar, brick walls). For $10 in advance, $15 at the door get one drink and a selection of hors d'oeuvres including baked brie bites, chicken pot pie bites, smoked gouda mac 'n cheese and more.

2. Murphy's Paw

We all like to get our fill of Sunday funday activities, but it generally tends to be a selfish endeavor. This Sunday do it for the animals. From 1 to 5 p.m., Kapow! Noodle Bar is hosting Murphy's Paw to benefit 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades. For $10 in advance, $20 at the door, the event offers two drink tickets good for Kapow! and the Dubliner as well as a selection of complimentary hors d'oeuvres from both spots. 1. Boca Brazilian Beat

Everyone knows Brazilians are known for sex appeal. From models like Gisele to "the Girl from Ipanema" to the Brazilian wax, Brasileiros are acknowledged for being fiery, fun loving, and provocative - although, anyone who has experienced their waxing methods may disagree with the fun part. Join in on the hotness at South Florida's official Brazilian Independence Day Party according to the Consulate General of Brazil in Miami, the 2nd Annual Downtown Boca Brazilian Beat in Boca Raton. Starting at 6 p.m. in Sanborn Square, the celebration includes Brazilian food and entertainment. The event is free and open to the public.
