Zagat posted its annual survey results for fast food this week, rating national fast- and full-service chain eateries in categories like "Top Food for a Mega Chain" (Wendy's) and "Top Healthy Options" (Subway, Jamba Juice). But every survey has its stud, and this year's was Five Guys, who took the Top Burger award away from perennial winner In-N-Out Burger.

Five Guys, with more than 640 locations nationwide, edged out the smaller, leaner In-N-Out, which has under 250. The Virginia-based franchise is praised among burger fans and critics alike (even though we think lesser-known Virginia chain Elevation Burger makes a better sandwich). McDonald's still took the top spot for French fries, possibly explaining why our readers vote the same way virtually every year in our own Best of Poll.

More than 6,500 people voted in the fast-food survey, each dining out at chains an average of 10.7 times per month. That's a lot of super-sizing.
