5. Hands On Scone Making Class
They say cooking is an art and baking is a science. If you feel like you should've been a chemist, but just missed your higher calling, Whole Foods in Boca is holding a scone making class on Saturday from noon to 1 pm. For $10 participants get to learn the ins and outs of scone-making and get to bring home the evidence of your newfound trade. Advance registration is suggested.
4. Canines & Cocktails
Want to go out on a Sunday night, but feeling guilty about leaving little Fluffy at home? Starting at 5:30 p.m., the Riverside Hotel's Preston's Courtyard is hosting a dog lovers happy hour. Dog owners are get half off drinks and apps, while Fido and Fluffy are treated to complimentary bowls of water and treats. Hopefully, that'll make up for you leaving the following morning.
3. Crafty Crown Beer Tasting
Like beer? Or just like drinking? As part of Crown Wine & Spirits Craft Beer Week--all craft beers are on sale until Sunday--two of the locations will be hosting beer tastings. For 10 bucks guests get a special pint glass and the chance to taste from over 40 craft and imported brews from around the world. The tastings take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at Crown Fort Lauderdale--1030 NE 15th Ave--on Friday and at the same time at Crown Delray Beach--911 SE 6th Ave--on Saturday.
2. Broward County Food Trucks Roundup
Looking to entertain the kids while stuffing your face? Broward County Food Trucks are hosting a gathering at the Southwest Ranches Equestrian Park on Saturday from 4 to 8 pm. Aside from the obvious food trucks, the event will feature a live DJ, petting zoo, and silent auction. The park is located at 5840 SW 148 Ave in Southwest Ranches.
1. Weston Town Center Crawl
You've definitely done a pub crawl. Why not a shopping center crawl? On Saturday night, the Weston Town Center is hosting crawl to benefit 2-1-1 Broward. For $20, participants will be given a map and a passport to the shops and restaurants that make up the center. Registration takes place at J.G. McGuinness 5 pm, and will includes light bites and drinks at other participating restaurants such as Cheese Course, Tarantella, and Japan Inn.
