If anyone had any doubt that the food scene in Fort Lauderdale is exploding, she needs only look to the announcement of the Flavors of Fort Lauderdale festival.
The four-day event, which runs from November 8-11, 2012, will feature a series of events spread throughout venues and restaurants in Fort Lauderdale.
Participating restaurants include Shula's on the Beach, Steak 954, and Via Luna, with more to be added.
Chef Allen Susser has been named "Ambassador of Flavor" for the event,
which will also help promote the sustainable seafood movement and
support the hunger relief efforts of Feeding South Florida, which
distributes food and groceries through a network of not-for-profit
organizations and works to engage the local community in the fight to
end world hunger.
Some of the initial dinners and parties at Flavors of Fort Lauderdale include a Dine
Around Fort Lauderdale, hosted by local restaurants, and a Flavors After
Dark event.
A Flavors Grand Tasting event will cap off the weekend on
Sunday, November 11 at the Las Olas Marina.
Tickets for Sunday's Grand Tasting are $79 and available here. Clean Plate Charlie will keep you updated as other events and restaurants are added.
