Libertarian candidate for governor Adrian Wyllie wants the craft beer vote, as he makes his way around the state on a "Craft Brewery Tour" throughout the month of August.

He'll be in our neck of the woods only once during this trip, on Saturday August 2nd, at two locations. From 5 to 6 p.m., he'll be hanging out at Saltwater Brewery in Delray Beach, where brewers there are seeking to petition the city to allow food trucks. Then, Wyllie will be stopping over in Coral Springs at Big Bear Brewing Company starting at 10 p.m. and lasting about an hour.
Stop by and ask him the hard-hitting questions. Like, "What's your favorite IPA?"
"As a small-business owner," Wyllie said in a statement, "I know firsthand the obstacles government places in our path, and how they can crush an entire industry with the stroke of a pen. If we truly want to restore the economy and create real jobs, we first have to get government out of our way...and that's what I intend to do as governor."
Wyllie stands to battle in Florida's most interesting political campaign season in years [at least I think so] which features incumbent Republican Rick 'not-a-lizard-man' Scott and former Governor Charlie 'tanning-beds-are-a-ok' Crist. Though he might be battling behemoths, the libertarian candidate is sitting with a small but decent nine points in the race, according to a Quinnipiac University poll.
His platform pits him as "an ardent defender of economic freedom, privacy rights, limited government, and individual liberty," while his small business experience stems from his being president of White Hat Info Tech Corporation, an IT consulting firm.
Followers of beer and politics will remember this springs brou-ha-ha with the Florida Senate, where they tried to pass a restrictive bill to curb brewery growth. Luckily, it never made it into law.
